My cat wakes up on the end of my bed. It is 1994. It is some time in the afternoon. I am at school. My mum and dad are at work. My cat jumps off the end of my bed and goes downstairs. It goes into the garden through the cat flap on the back door. My cat walks directly into a time machine. The time machine beams my cat sixteen years into the future, to last night. My cat exits the time machine. It is in a small room with a desk and a chair and a computer. My cat jumps onto the chair. It looks at the computer. The computer is connected to the internet. The computer is connected to the website Chatroulette. The webcam on the computer beams my cat to the person at the other end of Chatroulette. The person at the other end of Chatroulette is me, last night. I look at my cat. I type ‘hi’ to my cat. My cat looks at the message. I type ‘how are you?’ to my cat. My cat looks at the message. I wave at my cat. My cat watches me wave at it. It blinks and swishes its tail. My cat jumps off the chair and walks back into the time machine. The time machine beams my cat back to my garden in 1994. My cat exits the time machine and goes back into my house through the cat flap on the back door. It walks up to my room and falls asleep on the end of my bed. I click ‘Next’ on Chatroulette.
